The Walk & Book Launch - Yarning your way to the 2025 Forum

The Walk & Book Launch - Yarning your way to the 2025 Forum

Want to join an intentional little group to ‘Walk and Yarn’ your way to Forum?

The OHA Forum will include the Official Book Launch for the landmark new book ‘Outdoor Health: Caring for People and Planet’. This Open Access Book brings together chapters from leading thinkers, practitioners, and people with lived experience across the international outdoor health field.

We invite you to join this ‘Walk and Launch’ opportunity by interacting with the themes and discussions illuminated from the book - Yarns of meaning for practice and in community is the hope.

This will be a semi-structured 10km walk that will invite walkers at each kilometre to explore a new chapter theme, with readings from extracts from the book. Poetry will be offered to accompany these reflections and discussions. Some of the authors and OHA community and committee members may be joining also.

DETAILS:
We will be walking on Bundjalung Country.

The trail will guide us from Ballina along 7 amazing beaches that dot the coastline to the coastal town of Lennox Head. This route takes the sandy beaches mostly but detours on more shaded paths can be taken at certain spots. All transport will need to be self managed. You can car pool with fellow walkers or access public transport to meet your individual needs.

REGISTRATION & WHO IS THIS FOR:
Everyone is welcome on this walk. There is NO COST associated and although this is part of the OHA forum pre forum offerings you do not need to be attending the forum to join. Whether you are new to the field (and want to learn more) or a member of the OHA community already you are welcome.
