About The Event

Tim is a surfer. He’s also an award-winning Australian journalist and best-selling author-storyteller about surfing history and culture. His latest book “Patting The Shark” candidly shares his journey through a stage 4 cancer diagnosis.


Tim shares his journey and how surfing and the ocean, and his MEDS mantra, can help anyone manage a chronic illness or just maintain robust physical and mental health.


We look forward to having him back at the OHA Forum to hear about his experience of “Saltwater Therapy”.


Presenter Bio

Tim Baker is an award-winning and best-selling author, journalist and storyteller specialising in surfing history and culture. His latest book Patting The Shark (Penguin, 2022) documents his nine-year journey managing a metastatic prostate cancer diagnosis.
